BREAK ME
You can not break me
I'm not made of glass
You cannot hurt me
Bruises always pass
Hold tight and pull
me close
You must enjoy the
ride
I may cry or I may
boast
Depends on the time
of night
You can try to train
me
I'm a good listener
But don't try to
shape me
I'm not a permanent
fixture
Do not take me
lightly
Time is fleeting and
passes quickly
If you are lucky
I will forgive the
trespasses made against me
Although I'm a grudge
holder
Even though I pray
for your forgiveness
Warmth over the years
has grown colder
Where do we find
happiness

Another lovely piece of writing, I am sure many people can see themselves in this. Very deep and thought provoking
ReplyDeleteI think you capture the message in the poem perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYou have a way with words that make you think about what you have written, I feel a pain behind your words !!
